Turn back time with IPL Photofacial

IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light, also known as photorejuvenation or photofacial. Treatments are performed in office through the use of our Sciton BBL Laser, and can be fantastic for erasing mild sun damage, freckles, irregular pigmentation and light brown spots on the face, neck and chest.

IPL treats the skin with quick and powerful treatment lasting in all about 30-45 minutes. The treatment targets hyperpigmented areas along with unwanted texture. After treatment the pigment will naturally rise to the skin’s surface, creating a coffee ground effect that will soon begin to slough off. This will reveal the skin’s new-found smooth, untextured appearance, while diminishing the large appearance of pore size. Ultimately one may need 3-4 treatments, which you can have every 4 weeks.

IPL Photofacial can improve:

  • Sun Damage
  • Fine wrinkles
  • Freckles
  • Irregular pigmentation
  • The appearance of large pores
  • Rosacea
  • Age Spots
  • Dilated capillaries

Most skin types are good candidates for and IPL Treatment, but it is primarily for patients with pronounced sun damage, or issues with redness.

With the application of topical numbing cream it is likely you may not experience any discomfort.

Traditionally the redness from the treatment will disappear in about 24 hours, you may return to your regular activities there after! After the third day you may begin to have a bit of “sloughing” of the treated pigment, but it is only to help reveal the final results!
To insure that the treated pigment stay removed, it is best to grab a big floppy hat before your next day in the sun!
